Steve grew up in Vermont’s Green Mountains, where an early immersion in skiing, hiking, and biking sparked a lifelong passion for adventure. After heading west for college, he discovered bigger mountains and deeper snow, leading him to pursue professional training through the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA).
In 2008, he became the 51st American to earn full IFMGA certification—the highest international credential in mountain guiding—and later joined the AMGA National Instructor Team to mentor the next generation of guides.
Over the past two decades, Steve has guided and taught across North and South America, Europe, and Asia, working with clients ranging from children and college students to high-net-worth individuals and U.S. Special Forces.
Whether leading heli-ski tours in Iceland, technical ascents in the Tetons, or remote adventures in British Columbia, Steve brings unmatched expertise and professionalism to every trip.
Off the mountain, he can be found tinkering with his dirt bike, on the river, or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee with a view.
