Western Colorado, Utah and Nevada hold a desert landscape with amazing towers, improbable formations and endless expanses of climbable rock. The style of climbing is entirely unique from splitter cracks to patina-ed chicken heads. Spring and fall offer prime climbing temperatures and less people.

Indian Creek is the crack climbers paradise! These 1-6 pitch splitters are the perfect place to hone your crack climbing skills.

Red Rocks National Park just outside of Las Vegas, NV hold thousands of climbing routes, most of which are 5-10 pitches in length. This sandstone is more featured with lots of holds along with cracks to jam. With moderate approaches, these long routes can easily be climbed in a day, followed by all you can eat buffets and gambling at the casinos!

Castleton Tower, The Rectory, Ancient Art and the Fischer Towers near Moab, UT are the quintessential desert towers. These islands in the sky rise several hundred feet out of the desert floor. 3-8 pitches of beautiful sandstone with summit vistas that can’t be beat.
