Ruby Creek Lodge, located in the Valhalla Mountains of British Columbia holds incredibly wild and scenic powder skiing. Halfway between Revelstoke and Nelson, B.C. a snowcat will pick us up and drop us 16 km from the road in the mountains. Hydropower allows the lodge to have all the comforts of home including electricity, hot showers, boot dryers, a sauna and even wifi! Comfortable bedrooms a lounge, dining room and full kitchen round out the interior.
Each day we tour into a different peak or drainage to find more untracked powder. The terrain ranges from the extreme steeps and cliffs to mellow powder fields. There are even still some lines that have yet to be skied! Multiple laps each day allow people to get their full. 3000-5000 vertical feet a day is the norm. When the legs are ready to head back to the lodge, fresh appetizers and a hot sauna await before dinner and lounging by the fireplace to rest for the next day.
A fully catered trip is the only way to go. A chef will take care of all the food, bought locally with fresh, organic ingredients. Breakfasts of Eggs Benedict, pancakes, fruit and cereals get you primed for a day in the mountains. A packable lunch buffet keeps you going while on the skin track, and perfectly paired appetizers and dinners will leave you nodding off on the comfortable couches. If you still have room, elegant desserts will satisfy any sweet tooth before bed.
